✨ Closing Out the Semester Together

On December 4, GMU PRSSA wrapped up the Fall 2025 semester with a creative and inspiring final meeting. Members gathered for our Vision Board Night, a space to reflect on the past few months and map out goals for the year ahead. The night was filled with conversations, gratitude, and celebration as we looked back on the growth of our chapter.
🎓 Celebrating Our Community
This semester, our chapter continued to grow with the addition of new members and volunteers whose energy and involvement strengthened our PRSSA community. We also recognized two very special Winter 2025 graduating seniors:
Paige Hankerson
Allyson Bautista
Their dedication, leadership, and contributions have shaped GMU PRSSA in meaningful ways, and we wish them the very best as they begin the next chapter of their professional journeys.
Fall 2025 Highlights
This semester was filled with interactive, skill-building, and community-focused events that supported members both academically and professionally. Here’s a look back:
📣 Interest Meeting Kickoff
We opened the semester with our Fall Interest Meeting, where students learned about PRSSA, upcoming programming, and opportunities to get involved.
🎯 “This or That?” PR Campaign Activity

At our second meeting of the semester, members participated in a fun icebreaker activity where they selected and debated which PR campaign strategies they found most effective. It was a great way for everyone to warm up, share perspectives, and explore creative thinking in public relations.
🤝 Speed Networking in Georgetown, DC

Our chapter joined PRSA and other local PRSSA chapters in Georgetown for an in-person speed networking event. Members practiced their elevator pitches, met industry professionals, and made new connections with fellow PR students from across the region. It was one of our most valuable off-campus experiences of the semester.
Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) Awards

Thanks to one of our GMU and PRSSA alumni, members were invited to attend the Washington Women in Public Relations Awards—an inspiring evening celebrating outstanding PR professionals and emerging leaders in the field. Students had the opportunity to witness excellence in action and engage with accomplished communicators shaping the DC PR landscape.
🌐 ICON 2025 in Washington, DC

Members had the exciting opportunity to attend ICON 2025, one of the PR industry’s largest conferences. Students explored keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops led by communications leaders from across the nation. It was a unique chance to learn,
network, and experience the PR world on a national stage.
PR Agency Visits
We toured two leading PR agencies:
FleishmanHillard

The Brand Guild

Members gained firsthand insight into agency life, client work, PR career paths, and what it takes to succeed in the industry.
📝 Resume + Interview Workshop with Khanh & Rhyanna

In one combined session, Khanh guided members through resume polishing and formatting tips, while Rhyanna led mock interview activities that strengthened communication, confidence, and real-world readiness.
🌱 Looking Ahead to Spring 2026
We are already planning an exciting lineup for Spring 2026, including new workshops, agency partnerships, networking events, and more.
💛 Thank You & Warm Wishes
On behalf of the GMU PRSSA Executive Board:
Thank you to everyone who attended meetings, contributed ideas, volunteered, and supported our chapter this fall. PRSSA is what it is because of our incredible members.
Good luck on your final exams, and we wish you a safe, restful winter break. We can’t wait to see you in Spring 2026!
