Save the Date: October with GMU PRSSA

ree

October is shaping up to be one of our busiest and most exciting months of the semester, and we want to make sure you don’t miss a thing! From workshops to career forums and even a national conference, there are plenty of opportunities for professional growth, networking, and community.

What’s Coming Up

📌 Resume Workshop – October 10, 5 PM (Location TBD)

Kick off the month by sharpening your resume! This workshop will give you the chance to learn what recruiters are looking for, how to tailor your experiences for different roles, and leave with a polished draft ready to share at upcoming events.

📌 Study Session – October 14 (Time/Location TBD)

Join us for a collaborative study session with fellow PRSSA members. Whether you’re prepping for midterms or just need a productive space, this is a great chance to study together and stay on track.

📌 COMM Career Forum – October 21, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Johnson Center Third Floor (Lettered Rooms)

Our biggest event of the month! The COMM Career Forum connects Mason students with communication professionals across industries. Dress to impress, bring copies of your resume, and be ready to network with mentors, alumni, and recruiters.

📌 PRSA ICON Conference – October 27–30, Washington, D.C.

We’re thrilled to have ICON right here in D.C. this year! This is PRSSA and PRSA’s largest annual event, bringing together students, educators, and practitioners for workshops, panels, and networking at the national level.

Why You Should Get Involved

October offers something for everyone, whether you’re preparing to apply for internships, wanting to practice your networking skills, or simply looking to connect with peers and professionals who share your interests. Each of these events will give you tools, insights, and connections that can help you take the next step in your PR journey.

Make sure to mark your calendars, spread the word, and stay tuned for more details on each event. We can’t wait to see you there!
